CPD Reporting Tips

To report your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits online, log into your Licensed Residential Builders Portal. See Chapter 9 of BC Housing's CPD guide, Continuing Professional Development: A Guide for Licensed Residential Builders in British Columbia to learn more.

Special Notes:

For the date: Report the date you took the course. This is important to note during multi-day events. Also, please note that some event days include multiple courses. Each must be entered individually. The dates can be found on your certificate(s) of completion. We also have a Master List of course names, dates, and locations available for your convenience down below.

Education Provider: BUILDING IT RIGHT

Select the offering: From the dropdown menu. (See master list of course names, dates, and locations above).

Entering Number of Credits: All all our courses are pre-approved, you DO NOT need to fill in the number of CPD credits. This will autofill. You just need to go through the 3 steps above and then "Submit".

We often hear "How many points do I need to complete my CPD Program?"

On March 6, 2019, as part of “Better Regulations for British Columbians 2019”, the B.C. Government announced significant changes to the Homeowner Protection Act regulations as a means to simplify and streamline the process for the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program. As of July 1, 2019, "Active practice category for 20 points of CPD is removed" and thus "20 CPD points are required instead of 40". This means the remaining 20 Points required for CPD must be obtained through education.
