Introduction to WHMIS (GHS) ​in a Home Construction Environment

This introductory course provides an overview of The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and the 2015 incorporation of the Globally Harmonized System as they apply to controlled products used in the workplace. This includes a review of product classification, labelling and safety data sheet content. It provides a comprehensive explanation of Employer's responsibilities in the programs implementation and what is required to be compliant with Health Canada with regards to workplace safety. This course provides information on compliance as well as employer and employee responsibilities. It also outlines a plan for builders to ensure compliance among trades and contractors on site.

This is the first course offered by Building It Right in an ongoing series of worksite/workplace safety and hazards with respect to how it affects the home construction industry.
